Sandy roadsides, fields, and shores; ditches and railroad embankments; often abundant where found. First collected in 1913 in Emmet Co.
The large dome-shaped or tumbleweed-like plants, much-branched and bushy, covered with tiny flowers, are a familiar sight in many disturbed areas. Especially aggressive on dunes, where it may be a major threat.
