Barbarea verna ex W. H. Wagner slide collection

A native of Europe, local in fields and open disturbed ground. First collected in 1900 in Kent Co.

The pedicel and distinctive short beak (1.2 mm or less long) are almost as thick as the body of the fruit in this species, in contrast to the more slender structures of B. vulgaris. Furthermore, the silique is much longer. The basal leaves have more lateral lobes than our other species.
