Rich deciduous forests.
This is our commoner plant, occurring throughout much of the Upper Peninsula, as well as the Lower. This is later blooming than C. giganteum when they occur together; the first flowers do not open until the leaves have nearly fully expanded, and are usually a more yellowish color than C. giganteum.
