Included in P. nemoralis in Michigan Flora.
Shallow soil of rock outcrops and talus slopes; sand near Lake Superior.
This species is admitted tentatively to our flora as all Michigan specimens are somewhat transitional to Poa glauca. Collections are known from Pine Point Bluff, Marquette Co., a rocky talus slope on Drummond Island, Chippewa Co., and several locations in Keweenaw Co., including Isle Royale. Specimens differ from P. nemoralis as noted in the key, but are not a precise match for P. interior from farther west in the United States. More collections are needed. See notes under P. nemoralis and P. glauca.
