Wetness Index: FAC
Physiognomy: Nt P-Grass

Sandy fields, borrow pits, and sandy edges of forests.

In addition to the lemma length, the inflorescence differs from A. scabra in having the spikelets crowded in spike-like clusters at the ends of the panicle branches on pedicels up to 1.5 (–2) mm long and in having very short anthers ca. 0.3 mm long, and nearly as wide. In A. scabra, the spikelets are not so crowded, with at least some of the pedicels exceeding 2 mm in length and the anthers are ca. 0.4–0.8 mm long and clearly longer than wide.
