Cassia chamaecrista of Michigan Flora.
Sandy, disturbed ground, as along roads and railroads. Apparently not collected in Michigan before 1906 (Berrien Co.); it may be a relatively recent invader of our area from the immediate south or west, or (recent records) even spread from prairie plantings, of which it is a common annual component.
