Scirpus paludosus of Michigan Flora.

A western and maritime halophyte, known in Michigan from a single collection from ditches at Midland (R. R. Dreisbach 618 in 1914, MICH), but occurring sporadically in salted roadsides and other disturbed salt-influenced areas in the Great Lakes region, thus likely to be eventually found elsewhere in Michigan.

A more slender plant than B. fluviatilis, with more congested inflorescences and paler brown scales.
