In similar habitats as Inula helenium; roadsides, fields, and along trails, with weedy associates. First collected by B. S. Slaughter in Grand Traverse Co. in 2020. Reported from Kent Co., by Brunton et al. (2022), from iNaturalist images and subsequently collected by G. E. Crow.
