A number of species of Polygonatum are cultivated; most Asian species are strikingly different from our two, but a couple European plants, especially Polygonatum multiflorum  (L.) All., and the hybrid P. xhybridum Brügger are old fashioned garden plants, and may persist or spread from dumping of garden refuse. They resemble P. biflorum but have larger white flowers.
