Cotoneaster

Much branched, prostrate to erect, small to medium-sized shrubs with red or black fruits; many species are cultivated and more can be expected as escapes in disturbed open forests and fields. Our Cotoneaster species have been determined by Peter Zika.

 

1. Larger leaves 8-11 mm long, mostly glabrous, obtuse to truncate at the apex; plants ± prostrate.

C. adpressus

1. Larger leaves 12-16 mm long, young leaves at least usually pubescent beneath and with marginal cilia, acute at apex; plants upright.
