Besides the single species in western North America, disjunct to the Great Lakes region, this genus is represented by a species in temperate South America, a very localized species in Guatemala and adjacent Mexico, one in temperate eastern Asia, and a local species in the Himalayas, a specialist in disjunct distribution.
