Carex gynocrates A. A. Reznicek

Bogs, peaty shores, and openings in conifer swamps, especially cedar swamps, often on sphagnum hummocks.

This is a tiny and doubtless overlooked species. Maie plants, having thin, wispy spikes without perigynia are especially inconspicuous.
