S. europaea of Michigan Flora.
A species of saline open flats in salt marshes on the Great Plains. Plants at inland stations in northeastern North America are surely not native. Collected several times 1914–1930 in a salt marsh west of Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit (Wayne Co.). Recollected in 1984 in a saline expressway median in Wayne Co.
