A Eurasian species of saline habitats, well established now as a roadside halophyte, also in other disturbed habitats that receive salt in winter. First collected in 1974 in Washtenaw Co.
This is a species where there has been persistent instability in the name. We hope that Kirschner et al. (2007) have firmly settled the issue, but those who disagree will continue to use the name Spergularia salina J. Presl & C. Presl for this plant.
