Lychnis chalcedonica of Michigan Flora.
A native of northern and central Russia, rarely established as an escape from cultivation along grassy roadsides and thickets. First collected in Michigan on Isle Royale (Keweenaw Co.) and in Marquette Co.
The numerous large, ovate, clasping cauline leaves and crowded inflorescences, the numerous flowers with bilobed petals, should distinguish this species from other cultivated members of the genus.
