Locally escaped from cultivation and a well established biennial in some places. Weedy thickets, roadsides, and banks; dumps. First collected in 1916 in Emmet Co.
The very flat fruit is ca. 1.5–3.5 cm broad at maturity, rounded at both ends, and usually not much longer than broad. The uppermost leaves are sessile or nearly so.
