Edges of forests, river banks; a native of Turkey, first collected in Ottawa Co. in 2015 by W. S. Martinus.
A striking species, larger and with broader leaves than Galanthus nivalis. Also frequently cultivated for the very early spring bloom, and rarely escaped.
