An annual grass native south and west of Michigan, but sparingly introduced into our area. First collected in Michigan in 2011 by A. A. Reznicek in Washtenaw Co., though known for some years in adjacent Ontario. It was growing on a dry, gravelly highway shoulder with Polygonum sp. and other weedy grasses, and later collections have been from similar settings.
