A native of Asia and eastern Europe, sparingly established in vacant lots and railroad yards, and in other disturbed sites. First collected in 1893 in Wayne Co.
The foliage looks much more delicate than in A. biennis, and the large terminal panicle of tiny heads is distinctive. Extremely fragrant.
