L. Wallis
In the same situations as G. borealis, but also frequently in bogs, tamarack and cedar swamps, and on peaty shores.
The lemmas appear distinctly pointed in this species, and exceed their paleas – often by as much as 0.5 mm or slightly more. In G. grandis and G. striata, the lemmas are about the same length as their paleas or exceed them slightly with broad scarious tips. Glyceria canadensis apparently does not produce the aquatic leaf form of G. borealis.
