A. A. Reznicek
Moist to dry sterile sandy meadows; mostly in drier and more calcareous sites than A. longispica, and not so tightly associated with habitats near the Great Lakes.
Treated in many floras as A. longespica var. geniculata (Raf.) Fernald, but Michigan and Great Lakes region plants seem quite distinct in both ecology and morphology. As our plants need more study, for the time being we utilize Shinners name.
