S. farwellii of Michigan Flora.

Known only from a single collection (the type collection of S. farwellii) from Birmingham (O. A. Farwell 7625 in 1898, NY, BLH, GH), one sheet of which gives the habitat as “fields.” Said to be rare. Sisyrinchium farwellii (and the East Coast S. arenicola E. P. Bicknell) are placed under this species by Gleason & Cronquist (1991) and Cholewa & Henderson (2002).
