Schrankia nuttallii of Michigan Flora.

Native in the central states, from North Dakota south to Texas and Louisiana, rarely adventive eastward. Collected from a well established colony in the Island Lake Recreation Area (Livingston Co.) in 1947 (D. M. Lynch, MSC).

The leaflets are sensitive to touch as in the “sensitive-plants.” In subsuming Schrankia into Mimosa, Barneby (1991) recognized the segregate known as S. nuttallii as var. nuttallii of a variable M. quadrivalvis.
