Roadsides, fields, fencerows, and disturbed ground; occasionally invading open forests. A European species, locally well established and first collected in 1920 in Charlevoix Co.
The leaflets are lanceolate to narrowly elliptic-linear, and average much longer and narrower than in L. latifolius.
