Common Name: SEDGE
Coefficient of Conservatism: 4
Coefficient of Wetness: -5
Wetness Index: OBL
Physiognomy: Nt P-Sedge

Wet shores, marshes, sedge meadows, fens, and ditches; frequently in open coniferous swamps (cedar, tamarack), often in marly situations.

Where this growes with its relatives, especially Carex viridula, sterile hybrids are regularly found. These may have abnormal inflorescences, and are sometimes robust clumps, but easily recognized in the field.
