Very local in disturbed places, such as vacant lots, roadsides, railroad embankments. First collected in 1913 on Mackinac Island in Mackinac Co.

Depauperate little plants with narrower leaves than usual can be puzzling, but are stiffly erect in contrast with the habit of G. muralis.
