In forests of beech and maple, oak and hickory, one Berrien Co. collection from a "pine grove;" also in marshy ground and grassy areas.
Fully developed plants with strikingly broad connate-perfoliate leaves at the middle of the stem are easily recognized, but fragmentary specimens can be troublesome. See comments under T. aurantiacum. Triosteum perfoliatum blooms later than T. aurantiacum.
