Physiognomy: Ad A-Forb
A Eurasian native locally naturalized, becoming abundant in the 1970’s and subsequently. The earliest Michigan collection seen is from Mackinac Island (Mackinac Co.) in 1910, but before 1920 it had also turned up in Oakland, Berrien, and Ingham Cos. Like so many species it was doubtless largely overlooked before it became widespread. Especially characteristic of trails and roadsides in deciduous forests, but also in gardens, hedges, and a diversity of disturbed places.
This is a distinctive species in its small, few-flowered heads of pale yellow flowers in a corymbiform or paniculiform arrangement.
