Flowers are only up to ca. 3–6 mm in diameter, though they rarely press well. The sepals are mostly 1.5–2.6 mm long. As a general rule, the inflorescence of A. subcordatum is more diffusely branched and with more flowers than the larger-flowered A. triviale.
