A fibrous-rooted native of Eurasia, sometimes cultivated for greens and rarely established in disturbed open areas and old homesites. First collected from disturbed ground at Bay City, Bay Co., in 1897 (G. W. Bradford, MSC), then not again until 1990 in Alger Co. (D. Henson 3213, MICH).
