Wisteria frutescens (L.) Poir.

Common Name: WISTERIA
Coefficient of Conservatism: 9
Coefficient of Wetness: -3
Wetness Index: FACW
Physiognomy: Nt W-Vine
Status: T

Floodplain and lowland forests, forest edges, and thickets. A native plant south of Michigan. Its status as a native plant in Cass Co. in a floodplain forest is perhaps questionable, but Gillis (1980) suspected it was native there. An additional discovery from the Huron River floodplain in Wayne Co. may also represent a natural occurrence. A Washtenaw Co. occurrence, on the Lake Erie basin lakeplain is of uncertain origin.
