A tremendously aggressive woody Asian vine farther south in the United States, but barely established as far north as Michigan where first collected in Allegan Co., near the shore of Lake Michigan, by E. M. Chittenden in 1994. A planted colony (not mapped) is known from near Crystal Lake, Benzie Co.
Our plants are var. lobata (Willd.) Maesen & S. Almeida.
