Coefficient of Wetness: 5
Wetness Index: UPL
Physiognomy: Ad Shrub
An Asian shrub, occasionally cultivated for its late bloom and rarely escaped into fields. First collected by H. H. Bartlett in Washtenaw Co. in 1956. This collection has flowers smaller than usual (based on Akiyama, 1988) for the species, and may be a cultigen or hybrid.
Large stands of this species are known from some State Game areas, and it was presumably planted long ago for game and perhaps soil enrichment.
