Common Name: UMBRELLA SEDGE
Coefficient of Conservatism: 4
Coefficient of Wetness: -5
Wetness Index: OBL
Physiognomy: Nt A-Sedge
Sandy or muddy shores of lakes and rivers, borders of marshes, sand bars, etc. Very often growing with C. odoratus.
Despite the general tendency to recognize C. engelmannii as part of a variable C. odoratus, we tentatively agree with Mears & Libby (1995) that North American plants at least seem clearly distinct.
