Symphoricarpos occidentalis ex W. H. Wagner slide collection

Native west of the Great Lakes. Our collections are all from disturbed places such as railroad embankments, dry fields, roadsides, and shores. First collected in 1884 in Keweenaw Co.

The larger leaves on vigorous growth often have broadly toothed or crenate margins (a condition rarely seen in our other species).
