A Eurasian weed, rarely found in our area.

Old Michigan collections labeled as this species are almost invariably C. microcarpa. Camelina sativa was collected by D. Cooley in 1843, locality not stated but presumably in Macomb or Oakland Co.; by O. A. Farwell in 1884 in Keweenaw Co.; and only a few other occasions more recently.
