A species of saline habitats, mostly along the coast, barely as far north or inland as Michigan. Collected in this state as early as 1912 by O. A. Farwell, near a salt mine in Wayne Co., but apparently not collected since 1932. Our plants are all var. succulenta (Fernald) Cronquist.
