Liatris pycnostachya S. Farrington

Native west and south of Michigan; widely cultivated, and our plants are doubtless escaped in marshy fields and ditches. First collected in 1952 in Ottawa Co. An earlier Farwell collection, from Wayne Co. in 1920, contains a source attribution from Oklahoma ad the plants was probably from cultivation and is not mapped.
