Native south and west of Michigan, but apparently spreading along roads. First found along the gravel verges of Interstate 94 in Calhoun Co. in 2015. This is a showy tufted grass, vaguely reminiscent of Schizachyrium scoparium, but with more than one raceme per inflorescence.
