This is a species of sandy, usually moist open meadows. The status of this mostly southern and eastern species in Michigan is uncertain. It is said to have been introduced deliberately in Tuscola Co. The one likely indigenous collection is from Edwardsburg, Cass Co. (P. E. Hebert in 1930, ND), with no habitat stated.
