Aristida necopina Shinners
Common Name: THREE-AWNED GRASS
Coefficient of Conservatism: 4
Coefficient of Wetness: 5
Wetness Index: UPL
Physiognomy: Nt A-Grass

Moist to dry sterile sandy meadows; mostly in drier sites than A. longispica, and not so tightly associated with habitats near the Great Lakes.

Treated in many floras as A. longespica var. geniculata (Raf.) Fernald, but Michigan and Great Lakes plants seem quite distinct in both ecology and morphology.
