Myriophyllum verticillatum turion G. E. Crow turion

Lakes, ponds (including bog pools), and rivers, usually in rather quiet water.

This species produces distinctive club-shaped turions late in the season (and hence not usually collected), when the temperature is about 15° C. These have very short internodes and leaves similar in color and texture to those of normal branches; they expand to full size when the turion germinates.
