This moist prairie and oak savanna species was collected at Niles, Berrien Co., in 1867 and then in Saginaw Co. in 1925, but apparently has not been seen in Michigan since. Rare but still found as close to Michigan as the nearby Indiana Dunes area and the Oak Openings near Toledo, Ohio.
